The ancient village of Deshamangalam, famous for it’s cultural heritage is highly picturesque and had some how managed to retain that fame. The sylvan beauty of this little village is accentuated by the tediously flowing “NILA” river on whose banks it is situated. This village is a veritable treasure trove of antiquated old Man as and equally old stories that go hand in hand with them. Deshamangalam is just a few minutes’ drive from Trichur and is about 8km from shornur railway station, resplendent with its rich history, cultural heritage and archaeological wealth and cited to be the cultural capital of Kerala.
